Dear Diane,
1. Black colour represents the water element.
2. It is acceptable for a weak water person to be assocated with Black (or blue or grey) the colours identified with Water element.
3. Usually wrought iron beds the exposed area (in my opinion) does not have that much of an impact on the environment of the room as most parts of it is not seen.
