I heard that a window shouldn't be facing a front door. Someone suggested to hang a crystal in front of a window. But, the area where my window is-it's in the fame area (red, fire). And, I know that I shouldn't put crystals in the fame area because it waters down the fire. Do you know anything about this? I'm wondering if I can't put crystals in my fame area, what can I put?

Yes, it is not " auspicious " to have a window face a front door. The rationale is that benefiical ch' is suppose to be allowed to circulate around the house. With a window, it will flow `out' of the window without first having to `meander' along the home.

The best remedy is to use curtains or "blinds" and where possible not open the window especially if it is in a direct line with the main door.

Presently, do not put crystals in the frame area. As you have mentioned on the surface, this contradicts the 5 elements theory of the fire element and water element (crystals) clashing with each other. Without further knowlege as to Feng Shui numerlogy (not compulsory thou). ie. Flying Star, best to leave it as it is and not place a crystal.

Best Site on the Web Cecil Lee Cecil Lee support@geomancy.net - Feng Shui at Geomancy.Net Dear Cecil,

After browsing many many feng shui sites, I came to one conclusion: your site is the most sensible, reasonable and helpful one of all. I've been to sites where they want to sell you just about anything and everything. The information they are willing to give is so trivial and one senses that the only thing they are interested in is to make money and sell you products that might and might not fit in with your decor or your culture, and of course doesn't serve the purpose of curing and or enhancing.

Sorry for the long message, but I have a friend who spent a fortune buying all types of figurines to cure then to enhance and then eventually all she got was more figures on her credit card and no luck!

I believe that what one should do is get your advise first because it makes so much sense and it is always sincere. I also believe that people should buy things that pleases their eye and provide a sense of beauty and balance.

Again sorry for the long message and thank you for a wonderful site.

Students new to Feng Shui can learn more on their own, with the help of a few good books and this website, than many "practitioners" can teach them.
